Approaching Spiritual Care

Rooted in Lineage, Open to the World
Miriam’s Wellness is rooted in ancient feminine Jewish wisdom and the lineage of Miriam the Prophetess — the guardian of the living well in the wilderness.
Rooted in the lineage of Miriam the Prophetess, this is a home for resilience, healing, and renewal in times of great change.
In Jewish tradition, Miriam’s well traveled with the people through times of uncertainty, offering water, song, and life.
It is a lineage of resilience, listening, healing, and embodied faith.
The teachings shared through Miriam’s Wellness are rooted in Torah, Midrash, Jewish mysticism, and the living presence of Shechina — the indwelling, compassionate face of the Divine — while remaining open to wisdom teachings from many traditions.
Across cultures and lineages, human beings have always gathered at wells, gardens, fires, and thresholds to pray, to sing, to grieve, to celebrate, and to remember who we are.
This work is rooted, and it is relational.
Jewish, and open. In conversation with the Miriam from the Christian Bible, and the Miriam from the Quaran.
Ancient, and alive. -
At the heart of my work is a simple cosmology drawn from the natural world.
In each gathering and ceremony, we honor the four living elements that sustain life:
The Living Waters — for cleansing, blessing, memory, and renewal
The Ancient Light — for clarity, presence, and illumination
The Tended Earth — for grounding, healing, and growth
The Song in the Air — for prayer, poetry, breath, and voiceThrough water, candle, earth, and song, we remember that we belong to the living world — and that the world itself is a teacher.
Together, we honor what has come before.
We bless what is here now.
We welcome what is coming. -
My work is guided by the rhythms of sacred time.
The waxing and waning moon.
The turning of seasons.
The cycles of grief and renewal.
The long arcs of becoming.I believe that healing unfolds in cycles, not in straight lines.
We honor beginnings and endings, intention and integration, growth and release — allowing change to arrive in its own time.

Inter-spiritual Listening
While my roots are Jewish, my heart listens widely.
Many traditions teach that humanity is living in a time of great transition — a turning of the ages that calls for deep listening, healing, and renewal.
I hold this work with reverence for multiple lineages, including Indigenous, mystical, and contemplative traditions, while remaining grounded in my own path.
This is not a blending of traditions, but a practice of respectful listening — honoring the many ways human beings have learned to pray, to heal, and to become.
All are welcome here.
My work honors people of all genders, sexualities, family structures, identities, bodies, backgrounds, and spiritual paths.
I hold particular care for those navigating identity transitions, chosen family, grief that is not easily named, and thresholds that have not always been publicly blessed.
Every human life is sacred.
Every becoming deserves witness. -
I am here as a companion, a witness, a ritual guide, and a keeper of sacred space.
I am not here as an authority over your life.
Together, we listen for what is true.
We bless what is tender.
We honor what is changing.
We welcome the goodness that is seeking to arrive through us into our lives.
ABOUT MIRIAM’S
The Guardians of the future wellspring:
Miriam’s Wellness is a project of Miriam Rubin.
Born in Judaism.
Born again as a Mother.
Carrier of the name, Miriam.
In dialogue with the charachter of Mary and Maryam from Christianity and Islam.
Devoted to healing the fractures between us — through remembering our commonality through the web of life.Growing up in a suburban development on Long Island, with little connection to the earth, Miriam struggled with anxiety and depression, and always felt a subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) disconnection from the earth. As a teenager, Miriam met Earl and Aiesha Meshigaud, the spiritual leaders of the Pottowatomi Tribe who became her first spiritual mentors. With their guidance, Miriam identified that her anxiety and feelings of disconnection from the web of life and the earth, were related to the trauma that her ancestors faced when they were forced to leave their homes generation after generation. Upon learning this, Miriam has been on a quest of discovering pathways of somatic and ancestral healing, and re-patterning the nervous system to re-establish healthy patterns of connection to the earth, to lineage, and to members of our human family.
Miriam earned her Bachelors degree at Barnard College in Environmental Science, where she studied the impacts of climate change on the relationship to pollen production in Northeast plant populations. Miriam was an outdoor educator for 7 years, where she guided hundreds of students to learn about their relationship with the earth, and designed unique rites of passage programs that supported adolescent development. She earned her Massage Therapy License in 2013 and specializes in Somatic Education, trigger-point therapy, and somatic-neural pathway re-education. After being guided through the Soul Purpose Discovery Process under the mentorship of Jonathan Gustin, Miriam found the work to be so profound that she decided to train as a Purpose Guide™. In 2020, Miriam received ordination as an Interfaith Minister during the Global Pandemic. As an ordained interfaith minister, Miriam co-founded the Web of Life Community of NYC with Farez Hernandez and is co-creating an Eco-Ministry supporting individuals to connect with their authentic soul’s purpose, with the earth, and with one another. She is proud and humbled to be able to offer this profound integration of practices through Soulmatic Guiding and Healing work.
Miriam’s approach to healing and her eco- ministry is guided by a commitment to creating safety, support, and activated accompaniment. In creating a sacred space, the true guide of the soul is invited to fully participate.
After 7 years as the Director of Programming, and Director of Membership at Romemu, NYC’s largest Jewish Renewal community, Miriam currently works with 11-13 year old students at the Director of Rite of Passages at Wayfinders on the Hudson, works 1:1 with Somatic Bodywork clients, and works 1:1 with families to offer a Holistic B-Mitzvah experience.
What is Miriam’s Well?
Miriam’s Well is a mythical source of wisdom, nourishment and healing. It was known to nourish all who sought it along the spiritual journey of life. Miriam’s Well would appear when called upon, and brought many blessings and gifts on the spiritual and physical nature.
Miriam’s Wellness is a place of soul-nourishment.
